A Little About The Founder
Hello! I’m Pepper and I founded The Assembly because I truly believe that anyone should have the opportunity to pursue their passions and achieve their ambitions as a creative. As a serial entrepreneur, I know what it’s like to try and turn a big, sometimes scary dream into a reality, how lonely it can feel and how much the right know how and support would have helped me. I hope you feel at home and find our home useful.
I started my career in fashion over a decade ago as a Stylist and out of my desire to make an impact in the African fashion scene, I was the Fashion Editor of FAB and TW Magazine and in 2013 I became the Head of Channel for Africa’s pioneering fashion channel, SPICE TV.
My career in Fashion cuts across Media, PR and Consulting with experience in the UK and West Africa. Now I’m pursuing my passion to drive growth within Africa’s fashion eco-system and i’m curious about leveraging trade and technology to do so. I continue to work as a consultant and journalist with a focus on the creative economy.
Contributing to SDGs
Through our commitment to catalysing the sustainable growth of the fashion and apparel sector in Africa, we are making meaningful progress towards many of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goals, 1, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 12.
