Have you heard about our many new platforms for inspiring community members within the community?

This weekend, The Assembly will be hosting its first out of many, titled ‘How I got started’ with the amazing and talented hosts Jessica Nwalozie and Inara Alazigha who will be in ‘Fashversation’ about their major milestones, their pain points, achievements and opportunities. 

With the COVID-19 pandemic, they will also be sharing how the current situation has been affecting their brand.

The Event
The purpose of this event is to inspire and empower startups in the fashion industry with insights into the process, opportunities, challenges and wins experienced by creatives in the fashion industry.


Meet the Anchors

Jessica Nwalozie, Fashion Designer and Founder Illustrations by Jessica James

Jessica is a freelance fashion illustrator and designer. She has been working professionally in the fashion industry for about six years now and had her start as an intern at April by Kunbi. Over the years, she has worked both full time and freelance for major fashion brands in the Nigerian fashion industry.

Illustrations by Jessica James is a design-based company that specializes but is not restricted to fashion based design projects. She is also the winner of the 2019 Vlisco Fashion Fund and a 2018 Creative Class Alumni.

INARA ALAZIGHA, Founder Inara Ziha

Inara is a multifaceted Artist and Product Designer. Her areas of expertise encompass both Digital and Mixed Media. 

As a visual communicator, her work depicts cultural symbolism in contemporary abstraction.  

She was awarded the Most Creative Student by the University of Lagos’ (UNILAG), engineering society in 2018. That same year she went on to exhibit select pieces from her portfolio at the Cadeux dans event.

In 2019, she became alumni of the Nigerian Creative Enterprise (NICE) Support Program organized by the British Council. During the programme, she made it to the second round where she had the opportunity to pitch a business idea built on the foundation of her earlier mentioned core competencies. 

After her opportunity at NICE, she took what she learned and launched her fashion consultancy named Inara Ziha, tapping into a passion for fashion illustration sparked from as early as the age of 12.

Inara Ziha the brand articulates the ideas of the Designers and Creative Directors through illustration and 3D representation where needed. She has worked with several brands like contemporary womenswear designers, Spazio label, Thod by Tara and bespoke menswear designer Ojekide to name a few. She gathers her inspiration from personal musings, emotions fueled by books, nature, music, life experiences and other artists.

She currently works as a Bridal Consultant & Fashion designer at international luxury womenswear brand, Andrea Iyamah.
