Hey There!

It’s going to be a sketchy weekend with Omonigho Aito-Imonah who would be taking us on a course on the “Introduction to Technical Fashion drawing”, which is a very fundamental necessity for a designer trying to relay their design blueprint.

One of the essential requirements for creating garments or accessories when going into manufacturing is to provide factories with a “Technical Drawing”. Or often referred to as “Flat Drawing”.

Drawing a complicated style will take a lot of time. However, creating an accurate sketch will serve you well and allow the viewer to immediately understand what information you’re trying to impart.

Whether you are a designer working in the fashion industry who has some ability in fashion sketching or a newcomer with moderate drawing skills. Technical drawing is what you need to communicate your idea better to your team.

About the Workshop

You’ll learn:

  • What a Technical Flat is all about.
  • What is its relevance in the garment construction process?
  • How to draw the technical flat for a basic shift dress.

Workshop Facilitator:
Omonigho Aito-Imonah is a Nigerian fashion illustrator and designer of repute.
As a result of a collaborative partnership with fashion and lifestyle magazine giant, Genevieve magazine back in 2009, to produce a column dedicated to fashion illustrations, she is regarded as the first, documented professional fashion illustrator in Nigeria.
She has worked with several designers of repute, including Lisa Folawiyo of Jewel by Lisa and has had her works displayed in several leading fashion and lifestyle magazines and blogs, some of which include Genevieve magazine, TW magazine, Vanguard Allure, Bella Naija, Style Vitae, amongst others.
