X|Women; An Evening with a League of Badass Investors

This April, we are elated to host another edition of X|Women, this time with a League of Badass Investors! We’ll be celebrating and learning from trailblazing women in investment.

X|Women is an intimate virtual gathering where female creative entrepreneurs will connect with investors and investment executives interested in the creative industry. 

The Event

This event is designed to connect creative entrepreneurs with top investors and investment experts who will be sharing detailed information about gearing up for and securing the right investment. Yemi Keri

Yemi Keri is the co-founder of Rising Tide Africa, a women’s movement initiated with a vision to increase women’s participation in angel investing as an asset class and promote education, cross-border investing and investor-mentoring across Africa. She is a Director of the Lagos Angel Network and serves as a mentor to various digitally and technology-enabled start-ups. Yemi Keri as co-founder of Rising Tide Africa has invested in over 14 startups with the latest investment closing in a 2million dollar seed round alongside other investors. 

She is the Chief Executive Officer of Heckerbella Limited, a Digital Transformation company. A Chair and Non-Executive Director and award-winning commercially minded technologist with 22 years experience in the Information Technology industry, operating at CEO and C-suite level across the public and private sectors. At the forefront of digital transformation to tackle business and social problems, she is recognised as one of the foremost women in technology in Nigeria with demonstrable evidence of delivering reliable business solutions through technology.

 

Roberta Annan

Roberta Annan is the Founder and Managing Partner of Annan Capital Partners (ACP), a sector agnostic specialized Boutique Investment Company created to increase investment attractiveness to the African continent and encourage engagement in sustainable projects impacting numerous lives in the process. Annan Capital Partners alongside other investors offered seed investment of 15000-30000 ghc per business to women-owned and Ghana-based Small and Medium businesses. This seed investment is part of an initiative to uplift SMBs currently affected by the Coronavirus pandemic

Roberta Annan is also known as the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Impact Fund for African Creatives (IFFAC) – a €100 million impact investment fund based in Luxemburg aimed at supporting the creative and lifestyle industries across Africa. Roberta Annan serves on numerous high-growth, public and nonprofit boards including Industrie Africa, Women’s Empowerment and Investment Group, Ghana France Business Club, etc. An avid philanthropist, her core mission is to build women’s development opportunities across the African continent and this passion has progressively led her to start the African Fashion Foundation (AFF) in 2014.

Kristin Wilson

Kristin is the lead strategist at Spurt! and a partner at Bold Angel Fund. BAF is a syndicate designed to provide access to capital, network effects and talent for pre-seed entrepreneurs.  She leads the investment committee; the team that identifies and runs investments for the Angel Fund.

Working with the speciality solutions firm, Spurt! She engages with startups and SMEs operating in sub-Saharan Africa to provide strategic business advisory, research intelligence and data-driven operations optimization. As the lead strategist at Spurt! Kristin delivers robust solutions for growth and scaling by focusing on human capital development, change management. As a seasoned researcher and operations specialist, she brings a consistent research-driven and evidence-based approach to her practice.
