Held in Lagos, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana between 9-12 April 2024, these workshops were more than just a learning experience; they were a transformative platform for Mary and other participants to immerse themselves into the world of zero waste fashion design within the vibrant African context
Mary shares her post-workshop reflections:
I had an amazing time exploring and learning that ZERO WASTE is 100% possible, and it can be implemented. It was an exciting and Impactful session. As a conscious fashion brand owner looking for ways to improve my brand to produce consciously and to build a circular system in order to solve problems in the fashion industry at large, the ZERO WASTE workshop was really insightful and has given me the right information to explore and produce garments without any waste
The workshop, led by experts from the Zero Waste Design Collective and Worn, provided Mary and other participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in zero waste pattern cutting, garment design, and implementation strategies. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, Mary is now equipped to integrate zero waste principles into her individual practice, paving the way for a more sustainable and circular future in fashion.
