In the world, humans have relied on storytelling to engage, to share emotions and to relate personal experiences. StoryTelling has overtime gained recognition as the most effective marketing tool and when implemented effectively, it can boost a business in a number of ways, such as improving customer loyalty, creating a strong marketing strategy and increasing profit. The eighth day of the second edition of the Assembly Creative Class was packed with vital information on the art of storytelling. This intensive class was taken by the savvy head of content of BellaNaija online, Adesola Ade-Unuigbe.
Adesola gave an extensive presentation on the topic, creating awareness among the creatives as to the importance of storytelling in promoting their products and the best way to implement storytelling. In creating a story, it should be entertaining, educative, universal, organized and memorable. In telling your brand’s story, it is necessary that you identify your audience, be consistent, have a clear vision and be human. A good story can transform the position of a brand. A good story can take your brand from an unnamed/unrecognized brand to a beloved brand.
In the development of every product apart from selling just the function and benefit of the product, it is important to sell the emotional benefit through storytelling. Creating stories that apply to the brand has a whole lot to do with the value of the brand. So in creating your brand value, it is essential you answer the following questions;
- What do you do ?
- Who are you ?
- Why do you do what you do ?
- what is the end goal ?
The art of storytelling class was practical and insightful and it is a definite fact that the class participants gained a rich pool of knowledge. To stand out as a business, you have to build a brand, impact the world by telling story and in the words of Adesola Ade-Unuigbe,
“In a noisy digital world be unforgettable..”
It indeed was a class worth attending especially for those interested in the expansion of their creative business. The creative class continues till the 11th of October,2019.
