All the scoop on LEVEL UP 2!

“Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.” – John C. Crosby.

We were back at it again with a second instalment of our popular speed mentoring night for creatives, LEVEL UP. On the 28th of April veterans and leaders in the creative, fashion, media and business space assembled at the FreeMe Digital Headquarters in Lekki, Lagos to share knowledge and experience with young creatives building or looking to launch careers and businesses.

Attendees got to pick the brains of individuals behind some of the strongest creative, media and tech brands in Nigeria today in a super chilled environment. Here’s the scoop and photos of what went down.

As one would expect at a gathering of minds such as this numerous topics were discussed allowing very engaging conversations between our Guest mentors and mentees on the day.  Papa Omotayo, Founder of A White Space Creative Agency expressed the need to have more mentorship events like LEVEL UP, as access to knowledge and opportunities are the major areas that hinder the progress of creatives in the country. Fade Ogunro, Executive Producer, Film Factory NG and Founder, Bookings Africa emphasised the need to set high benchmarks when looking for inspiration especially for media enthusiasts. Fade explained that there’s a need to seek out the best in the business when looking for direction in your career, not limiting yourself to examples in your immediate surrounding.

We were privileged to have Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi, Founder of Ruff ‘n’ Tumble who relished the opportunity to impart her knowledge and experience  of running a fashion retail empire. The night of course could not have been complete without the amazing contributions from our other Guest Mentors, Simi Esiri, Editor-In-Chief of Schick Magazine, Banke Alawaye, digital guru and CEO of rock salt services, Michael Ugwu, GM of Sony Music Africa and CEO, Freeme Digital and super talented advertising art Lead at Insight Communications, Lekan Oladunwo and renowned fashion photographer Reze Bonna.
